I Vote for My Health is an initiative of Healthy Urbanity and the Quebec Association of Physicians for the Environment (QAPE) to position urban planning and health issues at the heart of the upcoming municipal elections on November 7, 2021.
Our cities have a significant impact on our well-being. Our health and life expectancy depend on their design. I Vote for My Health aims to equip citizens to ask municipal election candidates to commit to healthy urban design.
As a non-partisan platform, I Vote for My Health is an initiative that does not directly or indirectly promote or oppose the election of any candidate or party candidate.
At the initiative of:
Healthy Urbanity
Healthy Urbanity’s mission is to promote overall health, healthy lifestyles and the reduction of health costs by encouraging urban greening, public and active transportation (walking and cycling) and the fight against climate change. Thanks to the collaboration of health institutions in the greater Quebec City-Lévis area, the Ça marche Doc! initiative has earned the Prix d’excellence du réseau de la santé et des services sociaux – Volet partenariat in 2019.
Quebec Association of Physicians for the Environment
The Quebec Association of Physicians for the Environment (QAPE) brings together hundreds of Quebec physicians concerned about environmental issues. The QAPE is particularly interested in the impacts of climate change on health, active and public transportation, and pesticides. The QAPE is the Quebec branch of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment founded in 1993.
